C. elegans Promoterome Library
Following on from the success of the C. elegans ORFeome
library, Marc Vidal and his lab, has given us access to distribute
his C. elegans Promoterome library.
The development of systems biology requires the characterisation
of expression profiles. Interpretation of such results should allow
for the assessment of gene expression in cells and tissues, under
different developmental stages and environmental conditions. The
library includes clones containing ~6,000 predicted promoters,
cloned into the highly flexible MultiSite Gateway™ system
(Invitrogen). These promoters can be transferred easily into
various Gateway ™ Destination vectors to drive expression of
markers such as GFP alone (promoter::GFP constructs), or in fusion
with protein-encoding open reading frames available in ORFeome
resources (promoter::ORF::GFP).

Figure 1. Downstream applications of the
promoterome clones.
By utilising the cloned C. elegans promterome library,
a large number of in vivo assays can be performed in the
nematode.
- Tissue specific RNAi.
- Sub-cellular localisation, Co-immuno-precipitation and
Phenotype rescue.
- Yeast-one-hybrid.ChIP-chip.
- Expression mapping.
- mRNA tagging. Blue: attB site; Red: attL site; Yellow: attR
site.
Format
Source BioScience LifeSciences offers, for research purposes
only, individual clones from a single well, a subset of clones or
the complete set of 71 plates (96-well format). There's also a C. elegans Promoter finder tool available that
allows you to search for your promoter of interest, using a clone
ID.
We can also make subsets of your chosen clones from the
collection. Please contact
us to discuss your requirements.
