These clones are suitable for a variety of functional assays, protein expression and easy purification in many cell types as well as in cell free expression systems. OmicsLink™ ORF expression clones from GeneCopoeia are established following a stringent selection process by generation of the entire coding open reading frame (ORF) of the most common transcriptional variant of a gene and insertion into a modified Gateway® Entry Vector using high fidelity cloning technologies.
Transfer of the ORF into target expression vectors is possible by Invitrogen Corporation's Gateway® Shuttling technology, as well as by classical restriction-ligation cloning (Multiple Cloning Site present in the linker between attachment site and start codon). Furthermore, and in contrast to the classical Gateway® Technology, use of the patented RecJoin™ cloning strategy allows elimination of the extra 8 amino acids encoded by attB site between 5' tag and the start codon ATG, if 5' tag-ORF fusion expression clones are created. The same principle applies to 3' fusion protein production.
