ChIP sequencing
Chromatin Immunoprecipiation (ChIP) is a powerful tool in the
study of interactions between proteins and DNA. ChIP-Seq combines
ChIP with Genome Analyzer Sequencing technology to identify and
quantify in vivo protein-DNA interactions on a genome-wide
scale. Sequencing ChIP-enriched DNA fragments enables
identification of binding sites of DNA-binding proteins to
precisely and cost effectively map all binding sites for a protein
of interest to any sequenced genome. It is widely used for proteins
such as histones and transcription factors.
