PeakTrace™ DNA sequencing basecaller, can provide improved read lengths for DNA sequencing traces from the Applied BioSystems 3730 DNA Analyzer.
The PeakTrace basecalling software offers the following benefits:
With current technology using the ABI caller, Source BioScience can collect up to ~1400 nucleotides* of sequence data in one trace using the Applied Biosystems 3730 series DNA Analyzers.
To keep our service offerings up-to-date and in order to offer our customers the best available service offerings, we have now added this piece of software to our sequencing portfolio which is in addition to the traditional ABI caller**. Customers can now choose to use the traditional ABI caller or the new PeakTrace™ basecaller from the analysis settings within your individual user accounts. If you should require any help in making the selection then contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
PeakTrace™ DNA sequencing basecaller is software designed for the Applied BioSystems 3730 DNA Analyzer which can provide lower errors and improve the read length of DNA sequencing traces. PeakTrace™ is the latest piece of software, created using newly developed algorithms which enable the PeakTrace™ basecalling software to extract more usable bases from each trace.
Using a series of sophisticated algorithms, the PeakTrace™ basecaller makes it possible to reprocess the raw data from a trace file which allows the basecaller to make significantly better base and quality calls throughout the reads. The improved read lengths mean that fewer sequencing reactions are necessary to generate the coverage required in larger sequencing projects − which should save both time and money.
When placing your sequencing order, under the 'Analysis settings' simply select the radio button that states 'PeakTrace™"
* Most traces begin to display broad, overlapping peaks and low resolution beyond approximately 1000 nucleotides. The extent of these effects can vary on a trace-by-trace basis but, in general, the sequence data obtained from the latter region has lower base quality scores and high base call error rates as a result.
**At present PeakTrace is only available via our UK laboratories
