Inflammasomes
The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor
(NLR) family of proteins is involved in the regulation of innate
immunity responses. Certain members of the NLR family sense
pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) in the cytosol and
induce the assembly of large caspase-1-activating complexes called
inflammasomes.
InvivoGen introduces inflammasome inducers,
inhibitors and HEK-Blue™ IL-1β cells allow the detection of
bioactive interleukin 1β (IL-1β). These HEK293-derived cells
express an NF-κB-inducible SEAP reporter gene. They produce SEAP in
presence of IL-1β but not in presence of TNF-α, type I IFNs, IL-4
or IL-6.
